Installation guide

Get CartClimb running on your Shopify store in under 5 minutes.

Install from the Shopify App Store

  1. Search for CartClimb in the Shopify App Store
  2. Click Add app and approve the requested permissions
  3. Approve the subscription — the first 7 days are free

Once installed, you'll be redirected to the CartClimb admin panel inside your Shopify admin.

Configure in the admin panel

The admin panel has four sections:

  • Dashboard: enable/disable the progress bar and view a live preview
  • Settings: choose display mode, colors, and positioning
  • Tiers: set up reward thresholds (free shipping, discounts, gifts)
  • Messages: customize the text shown to your customers

Add it to your storefront

CartClimb appears on your storefront automatically once enabled — no theme editing required.

If you want custom positioning, see the Theme Block section below.

Theme Block setup (advanced)

For full control over where the progress bar appears, add the CartClimb block in your theme customizer:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize
  2. Click Add block or Add app block
  3. Select CartClimb Progress Bar
  4. Drag it to the position you want on the page
  5. Configure display mode, tier thresholds, colors, and messages
  6. Click Save

Heads up: Don't test in the theme customizer — cart monitoring is disabled there. Always test on your live store URL.

Reward setup

Important: CartClimb shows progress visually. The actual rewards (shipping rates, discount codes, free gifts) need to be configured in Shopify itself.

Free shipping (easiest, automatic):

  1. Set the threshold in the CartClimb admin (e.g. $50)
  2. In Shopify, go to Settings → Shipping
  3. Add a free shipping rate with the same minimum ($50)

Discount (requires a manual discount code):

  1. Set the discount in CartClimb (e.g. 10% off)
  2. In Shopify, go to Discounts → Create discount
  3. Create a matching discount code and communicate it to customers

Free gift (requires Buy X Get Y discount):

  1. Set the gift threshold in CartClimb (e.g. $100)
  2. In Shopify, create a "Buy X Get Y" automatic discount with matching minimum
