What is SocialSnap?

SocialSnap is a Shopify app that lets you display your Instagram feed on your store. It automatically syncs your Instagram posts and shows them in beautiful layouts — grids, sliders, or Stories-style circles.

You build social proof, increase engagement, and keep your store content fresh without any manual work.

Do I need coding knowledge to use SocialSnap?

No. SocialSnap uses Shopify's Theme App Extensions, so you can add and customize the feed widget directly in your theme editor with simple drag-and-drop and visual controls.

Is SocialSnap compatible with all Shopify themes?

Yes — SocialSnap is compatible with all Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes. That covers all themes in the Shopify Theme Store and most custom themes built after 2021.

What type of Instagram account do I need?

You need an Instagram Business or Creator account. Personal Instagram accounts cannot be connected due to Instagram API restrictions.

Can I connect multiple Instagram accounts?

SocialSnap currently supports one Instagram account per Shopify store. If you need to display content from multiple Instagram accounts, contact us to discuss your needs.

Can SocialSnap post to my Instagram account?

No. SocialSnap only reads your Instagram content to display it on your store. We cannot and will not post, edit, or delete anything on your Instagram account. Your Instagram credentials are never stored.

Why aren't my new Instagram posts showing?

A few reasons new posts might not appear immediately:

  • Free plan: requires manual sync. Click "Sync Now" in the SocialSnap app.
  • Instagram API delay: Instagram's API can take up to 1 hour to reflect new posts.
  • Sync interval: check your auto-sync settings — posts sync based on your plan's interval.
  • Browser cache: try clearing your browser cache or viewing in incognito.
Does SocialSnap support Instagram Reels and Stories?

Reels: yes. Instagram Reels display with a play button and play inline when clicked.

Stories: Instagram Stories aren't supported by Instagram's API (they're temporary content). Our "Circle" layout mimics the Stories aesthetic for your regular posts.

What layouts are available?

SocialSnap offers three layout options:

  • Grid: classic grid layout with customizable columns (2–8)
  • Slider: horizontal carousel that users can scroll through
  • Circle: Instagram Stories-style circular avatars with gradient borders

What is auto-sync and how does it work?

Auto-sync automatically fetches new posts from your Instagram account at regular intervals. When you post on Instagram, it appears on your store automatically — no manual action required.

Sync intervals vary by plan:

  • Free: manual sync only (72 hours minimum)
  • Starter: daily sync
  • Pro: every 12 hours
  • Unlimited: hourly sync
What is product tagging?

Product tagging (available on Pro and Unlimited plans) lets you link your Instagram posts to products in your Shopify store. When customers click a post, they can see and purchase the tagged products directly.

This turns your Instagram feed into a shoppable gallery and drives conversions.

Can I create multiple feeds?

Yes. The number of feeds you can create depends on your plan:

  • Free: 1 feed
  • Starter: 3 feeds
  • Pro: 10 feeds
  • Unlimited: unlimited feeds

Multiple feeds let you show different posts on different pages — e.g. a curated feed on your homepage and a product-specific feed on product pages.

Is there a free plan?

Yes — SocialSnap has a free plan that includes:

  • 1 Instagram feed
  • 12 posts per feed
  • Grid layout
  • Manual sync

No credit card is required to get started. Upgrade anytime to access more features.

How does billing work?

All billing is handled through Shopify's billing system, which means:

  • Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice
  • No need to enter credit card details separately
  • Secure payment processing by Shopify

Subscriptions are billed monthly with no long-term commitments.

Can I change or cancel my plan anytime?

Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from your Shopify admin.

  • Upgrade: new features available immediately, prorated billing
  • Downgrade: takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle
  • Cancel: reverts to the Free plan at the end of your billing cycle
Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are handled per Shopify's app refund policy. If you're not satisfied with SocialSnap, contact us within 7 days of purchase and we'll work with you to resolve any issues or process a refund.

Does SocialSnap slow down my store?

No. SocialSnap is optimized for performance:

  • Media is cached and served from fast CDN servers
  • Images are lazy-loaded (only load when visible)
  • Minimal JavaScript footprint
  • No external tracking scripts

Your store's speed score should not be significantly affected by SocialSnap.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

If you uninstall SocialSnap:

  • The feed widget is automatically removed from your theme
  • Your Instagram connection is revoked
  • Your data is deleted within 30 days (per our privacy policy)
  • Any paid subscription is cancelled

You can reinstall anytime and reconnect your Instagram account.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Security is a top priority:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/SSL
  • Instagram access tokens are encrypted at rest
  • We don't store your Instagram password
  • We comply with GDPR and CCPA regulations
  • Data is stored on secure, isolated servers

The feed widget isn't showing on my store. Help!

Try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Make sure you've connected your Instagram account in the SocialSnap app
  2. Check that the app embed is enabled: Themes → Customize → App embeds → Enable SocialSnap
  3. Verify you've added the SocialSnap section to your page
  4. Click "Sync Now" in the app to fetch posts
  5. Clear your browser cache and try again
