This policy applies to data collected through both the Shopify platform and the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) platform integration.
Information We Collect
Shopify Store Information
When you install SocialSnap on your Shopify store, we collect:
- Shop Domain: Your Shopify store's domain (e.g. yourstore.myshopify.com)
- Store Name: Your store's display name
- Email Address: The email associated with your Shopify account for support and notifications
- Plan Information: Your Shopify plan level for feature compatibility
Meta Platform Data (Facebook & Instagram)
When you connect your Instagram account via Facebook Login, we collect and process the following data from Meta platforms:
- Facebook User ID: A unique identifier from Facebook Login authentication
- Facebook Page Information: Names and IDs of Facebook Pages you manage (via
pages_show_list permission)
- Instagram Business Account ID: The unique identifier for your connected Instagram Professional account
- Instagram Username: Your Instagram handle/username
- Instagram Profile Information: Basic profile data (via
instagram_basic permission)
- Instagram Media: Your Instagram posts including images, videos, captions, timestamps, and permalinks (via
pages_read_engagement permission)
- Access Tokens: OAuth tokens to maintain your connection (stored encrypted)
Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information about how you use our app:
- Features used and settings configured
- Feed views and interactions on your storefront
- Error logs for troubleshooting
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Provide Services: To display your Instagram feed on your Shopify store
- Sync Content: To automatically update your feed with new Instagram posts
- Improve the App: To understand usage patterns and improve our services
- Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide technical support
- Billing: To process subscription payments through Shopify's billing system

Meta Platform Data Usage
Data obtained from Meta platforms (Facebook/Instagram) is used exclusively to:
- Authenticate and verify your Instagram Business Account connection
- Fetch and cache your Instagram media for display on your Shopify store
- Maintain a valid connection to refresh your feed content
We do not:
- Sell or license Meta platform data to third parties
- Use Meta data for advertising, marketing, or user profiling purposes
- Transfer Meta data to data brokers or information resellers
- Use Meta data for purposes unrelated to displaying your Instagram feed
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
Service Providers
- Shopify: We operate within Shopify's platform and share necessary data with Shopify for app functionality and billing
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram): We connect to Instagram Graph API via Facebook Login to fetch your media content. Data is exchanged only to provide the core service functionality.
- Cloud Hosting: Our servers are hosted on secure cloud infrastructure (Fly.io) with data stored in isolated database instances
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- All data transmission is encrypted using SSL/TLS (HTTPS)
- Instagram and Facebook access tokens are stored encrypted at rest
- We use secure, isolated PostgreSQL database instances
- Regular security audits and updates
- Limited employee access to customer data on a need-to-know basis
- Secure authentication via Shopify OAuth and Facebook Login
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your app is installed and your account is active. Upon uninstallation:
- Store settings and preferences are deleted within 30 days
- Instagram/Facebook access tokens are immediately revoked and deleted
- Cached Instagram media data is deleted within 7 days
- Anonymized analytics may be retained for service improvement
Meta Platform Data Deletion
In compliance with Meta Platform Terms:
- When you disconnect your Instagram account from SocialSnap, all associated Meta platform data is deleted within 48 hours
- You can request deletion of your Meta platform data at any time by contacting us
- Upon receiving a data deletion request from Meta, we will delete the relevant data within 48 hours
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Restriction: Request limitation of data processing

Meta Platform Terms Compliance
SocialSnap uses the Instagram Graph API via Facebook Login. In compliance with Meta Platform Terms:
- Limited Use: We only access data necessary to provide the Instagram feed display service
- No Data Sale: We never sell, license, or transfer Meta platform data to third parties
- No Advertising Use: We do not use Meta data for advertising, marketing research, or building user profiles
- Data Deletion: Users can request deletion of their Meta platform data at any time by emailing conversionlabsdev@gmail.com
- Security: All Meta platform data is stored encrypted and transmitted over secure HTTPS connections

Shopify Platform Compliance
As a Shopify App, SocialSnap complies with Shopify's Partner Program Agreement and API Terms of Service:
- We only access Shopify data necessary for app functionality

- Billing is handled exclusively through Shopify's secure billing system
- We maintain compliance with Shopify's data protection requirements
Children's Privacy
SocialSnap is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

5. Instagram Content

- Subscription fees are charged monthly
- You may cancel at any time through your Shopify admin
- Refunds are handled according to Shopify's refund policy
7. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects service availability. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.
8. Limitation of Liability
SocialSnap is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the preceding 12 months.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SocialSnap from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.
10. Changes to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately, and we may delete your data according to our Privacy Policy.
